presentation? mnemonic
A
fever > 5 days + 4/5 of:
Conjunctivitis (non-exudative)
Rash (maculopapular, blanching)
Edema/erythema of extremities followed by desquamation
Adenopathy (cervical lymphadenopathy)
Mucosal change of mouth & lips (strawberry tongue, red dry lips)

A
Coronary artery aneurysm in 20-40%

A
echo at 14 days, 6 weeks and 6 months

how to differentiate between kawasaki and scarlet fever?
A
scarlet fever:
- fever responds to paracetamol
- PAINFUL lymphadenopathy
kawasaki:
- fever does not respond to paracetamol
- PAINLESS lymphadenopathy
