presentation of CHD?
A
- picked up antenatally
- murmur
- cyanosis
- heart failure
- cardiogenic shock

what are innocent murmurs aka flow murmurs?
A
- murmurs not due to a structural abnormality
- heard in up 1/3 of children

describe an innocent murmur
A
- systolic
- soft
- short
- symptomless
- situation dependent:
- changes w posture
- often heard in febrile child
+ can be localised; do not radiate

where are innocent murmurs typically heard?
A
- continuous in left clavicular region (venous hum)
- LSE

Mx of innocent murmurs?
A
if no concerning features, no further investigation required
however if there are:
- ECG
- CXR
- Echo
