A
occur in child between 6months-5 years w high fever

- simple
- generalised tonic-clonic
- last < 15 mins
- only occur once
- complex
- partial or focal seizures
- last > 15 mins
- occur multiple times

diagnosis?
A
exclude other DDx of seizures ie
- epilepsy
- meningitis, encephalitis
- SoL
- electrolyte imbalance
- trauma
- syncopal episode

Mx?
A
identify & manage source of infection + antipyretics
- simple- no further rx required
- complex- further ix required

risk of developing epilepsy following this?
A
- 2-7.5% after simple
- 10-20% after complex
