What is karpas? (3)
- A simple vegetable, other than bitter herbs.
- Either potato or turnip dipped in salt water.
- Symbolises simple life of slaves and the losses they suffered.
What is matzah? (2)
- Unleavened bread (bread with no yeast).

What does a hard-boiled, slightly roasted egg remind the Jews of?
Their new life of freedom.
What do the bitter herbs symbolise?
How long they were in slavery.
What is charoset?
A paste made of apple and nuts which reminds the Jews of the mud bricks they were forced to make.
What does a bone from a leg of lamb represent?
The lambs that were killed for their blood which was to be painted on the doors.
