What is the significance of Ihram?
The white clothes symbolise purity. By living together with no luxuries they show that they are all part of the same ummah (brotherhood).

During the Hajj Muslims circle the Kabba seven times in a counterclockwise direction. Tawaf is event 2

Circling the Kabba symbolises strength and power as a union. How the Muslims encourage one another to achieve greatness?
What is Arafat?
Also known as Mt of Mercy, this is where Muhammad gave his last semon. Pilgrims pray here to Allah. Pilgrims also pick stones here. Arafat is event 3
What is the significance of Arafat?
This symbolises the responsibility Muslims have and how they commit to their respect for Allah
What is Muzdalifah?
Pilgrims spend the night here in camp often praying towards the stars. Muzdalifah is event 4
What s the significance of Muzdalifah?
The significance of Muzdalifah is settling in with others worshipping Allah.
What is Mina?
Within Mina is the Jamarat bridge. Here, pilgrims throw stones at pillars representing Satin. Mina is event 5
What is the significance of Mina?
This represents stoning the devil, who represents darkness. If you put your mind to it, you can overcome darkness.
What is wash/shave hair?
Muslims wash (Wudu) and shave their hair (women may simply tie this back and under a hijab). This is event 6

Like Ihram, this symbolises purity and having new beginnings.
What is Eid-ul-Adah?
A festival celebrating Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son. Muslim’s worship Allah at the Kabba. This is event 7.
What is the significance of Eid-ul-Adha?
This represents committing to Allah’s requests. Doing a horrible thing to prove yourself. This also represents willingness.
