Journaling 101-Problem Solving Flashcards
Journaling gives your mind time to properly process feelings and emotions and can help you in avoiding making snap decisions or responses.
Even without intentionality trying to problem solve, you’ll find that sometimes your solutions appear just by talking about the issue when you journal reflectively.
Another way to practice problem solving is to dedicate your journaling time to finding solutions.
Carve time out to focus on your problem and let your mind explore possibilities.
Start today on focusing on any problem your looking to solve.
It can be a current problem, a potential problem or something from the past that your looking to reassess.
Big or small…
What problem would you like to explore solutions for?
Your solutions don’t need to be perfect, they can sound outlandish and silly.By letting your mind explore all the possible solutions you can uncover the one that will work for you.
Dont hold back…
Write three creative solutions to your problem.
Think of those ideas, did they spark new solutions? Can you take any of your creative ideas and make them achievable?
Take your time…
Write down as many practical solutions as you can.
Reflect…
Was it easy to come up with solutions?
Gain perspective…
Whats the biggest barriers to putting these solutions into action?
Sometimes it feels impossible to take the first step and work towards solving a problem. But even a small step is a step in the right direction.
Trial and error are big components of problem solving. Don’t be discouraged if your first solution doesn’t work.
By continuing to work on problem solving through journaling , you’ll soon see that ideas flow more naturally and you can tackle larger problems with more clarity.
