Journaling 101-Free Writing Flashcards
Free writing isn’t tied to a question or specific event you want to note down, its a free flowing stream of thoughts that you can explore for as short or as long as you want.
Free writing is used to help to create a connection between your self and your subconscious.
It can help you understand thoughts that you may have hidden away or didn’t realise you had.
If your experiencing writers block, free writing can help you push past barriers by reducing judgment in your writing.
Relax and be open to whatever your mind wants to tell you.
Try writing all the small thoughts that come to you, even just one word at a time,(ball,red,sky,clouds). You could even try closing your eyes as you type. Spelling doesn’t matter here.
It may seem like its silly or you’re writing nonsense but don’t worry, the point is the process.
Everyone’s technique is unique to them, so it’s time to practice and find your favourite.
