What is flexion?
Reducing the angle between the bones of a limb at a joint. Such as bending your arm
What is extension?
Straightening a limb to increase the angle at the joint
What is dorsiflexion?
Moving in an upwards movement such as flexing your foot upwards
What is plantar flexion?
Where the toes are pointed downwards by straightening the ankle
What is lateral flexion?
The moment of bending sideways
What is horizontal flexion?
Bending the elbow while the arm is in front of you
What is horizontal extension?
Straightening the arm at the elbow when your arm is in front of you
What is hyper- extension?
Movement beyond the normal range
What is abduction?
Movement away from the bodies normal line.
What is adduction?
Movement towards the bodies normal line
What is Circumduction?
Circular movement that does not include rotation
What is rotation?
Circular movement of limb- Includes rotating
