A

-Its saying you can trade with anyone in the world except france and england until they stop taking our ships
-Embargo act did not work, so they switched to this
-Jefferson decided this

A

-Prohibited America from trading with foreign nations, mostly Britain and France because they kept stealing our ships
-It was an attempt for them to respect that America is neutral
-Mostly harmed the American economy
-Wasent successful then changed to the nonintercourse act

What was the War with Tripoli?

A
  • U.S payed money to the pirates that were in the mediterranean sea to leave our ships alone
    -The pirates later wanted a bigger bribe and Jeffereson refused
    -The state declared war on the U.S Jefferson then set up a navel blockage
    -The “Philadelphia” got captured by the pirates
    -The marines then marched 500 miles to attach Tripoli
    -The treaty was signed to leave the U.S alone

What is an impressment? And how was it used?

A

-The british and the french are fighting and the british adds an impressment
-We are trading to Europe, China, around South America, and the Caribbean.
-An impressment is the act to force and constrict people often against their will

The War of 1812 key facts:

A

-Britain gets us into a war because they kept sinking our ships
-The house declares war
-We declared war in June 1812
-U.S only had 16 ships and a few soldiers
-U.S invades Canada to get them on our side
-There were battles Great lakes, –The east Coast, and in New Orleans
-After the fighting the peace treaty is signed, and they all went back to normal
