Advance directives = wishes of the patients
POLST = ORDERS! signed by physician
Difference between palliative and hospice care?
Palliative = addressing symptoms (comforting) with treatment
Hospice = addressing symptoms with no treatment
Difference between physician-assisted suicide and euthansaia?
Physician-assisted suicide: prescription for leathal amount of medication that the patient takes on a their own
Euthanasia = physician directly and intentionally administers a substance to cause death
What states is physician assisted suicide legal in?
Oregon, washington and vermont
