what is ivf
A
ivf is a method of assited fertalisation that invloves the combination of an egg and sperm in a test tube.

what is the process of ivf
A
- an egg and sperm are combined in vitro (a test tube)
- once embryos are formed, usually two to four of them are transferred to a womens uterous fo implantation
- it is hoped that once embryos are planted they will grow into a mature fetus and a baby being formed.

- used ot help coples who cannot conceive naturally.
- can be used to create an embryo with specific qualities

- defining initiation of life ethically
- ivf usually produces more mebryos than need so is it ethical to dispose of those extra embryos? - turning children into commodities
- ivf turns children and child bearing into a commodity to be sold - should ivf be offered to older women
