- Antagonizes action of acetylcholine on the bronchial smooth muscle in the lungs, causing bronchodilation

Indications
A
- Bronchoconstriction - asthma and COPD
- Ipratropium may be given in a combination with albuterol anytime albuterol is indicated

Absolute Contraindications
A
- Ipratropium bromide allergy

Precautions & Side Effects
A
- Use with caution in patients with narrow angle glaucoma
- Side effects may include palpitations, dizziness, headache, anxiety, eye pain, and urinary retention

Administration
A
- SVN
- Onset: 5-15min
- Peak: 1.5-2hrs
- Duration: 4-6hrs
