Introduction to Clio Launcher-Document Editing Flashcards
The Clio Launcher will allow you to open documents stored in Clio using your preferred document editor. The launcher app is installed on your computer and is compatible with PCs and Macs. It can integrate with any editing software enable on your computer. All users on Boutique, Elite, or EMEA accounts will have access to install and use Clio Launcher
Once installed, clicking the launch icon next to a document name will open the document so you can begin editing it immediately. For example, you can set your computer to pen .docx files in Microsoft Word by default. For Mac users, you can set your computer to open the same files in Pages, if you do not have Microsoft Word
Once you’ve finished editing, saving the document will automatically save a new version of the file in Clio
Please note that the Clio Launcher is only compatible with documents stored in Clio Documents and not those stored on a document integration such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, NetDocuments, or OneDrive
What if you don’t have Clio launcher?
If you do not have Clio launcher, updating documents will require that you download the document from Clio first onto your laptop or computer. Then:
- Open the file and make your changes
- Save the file with its changes back to your computer
- Go back to Clio and upload an new version (or as a new file)
Using Clio Launcher will ease this workflow and ensure that your document updates are recorded in Clio so we do recommend using it if you’re able to
