When you are viewing the contents of a folder in which you want to upload more files, click on the “New” button on the right side of the screen to start the process

A

Here, you’ll see a small menu to choose whether you want to create a new folder, upload a single file, or upload a folder containing multiple files

Alternatively, you can drag and drop files through your browser onto the Documents page or onto the Documents tab. Keep in mind when looking to drag and drop folders that you must be running google Chrome

Versioning

A

Versioning allows users to keep track of document changes through the course of a Matter. To add or view file versions, click on the “View Details” quick link for that file or folder. In the “Details” side panel, additional file versions that all users have uploaded can be viewed below the “General Information” details

To add a new version, click on the plus icon then select the new file version to upload Clio

To download previous versions, click on the version number

Those who are using the Clio Launcher to launch and save edited documents will see those document changes as new versions in Clio

Commenting

A

Within the same Details panel is the option to add comments. To add or view comments in a folder or file:

  1. Click on the “View Details” quick link for that file or folder
  2. In the “Details” side panel, click on the speech bubble icon
  3. You can edit or delete a comment that you have added by clicking on the comment’s “Edit” or “Delete” links

Document Full Text Search (Elite subscriptions)

A

Accounts on our Elite subscription will be able to search the text content of documents uploaded to the Clio storage system. This allows law firm users to search through document contents as opposed to just titles and authors
