Bill Timelines Flashcards
Bill timelines allow law firms to reference historical versions of bills along with logs of changes and communications related to a given bill
This will make it easier to respond to billing inquiries from clients as it relates to the history of their bills and communications. For example, you’ll be able to download the exact version of the bill that was sent to a client and see timestamps of communications
Bill timelines are available to all Clio Manage customers on all subscription plans, but only visible to those who have Administrator or Billing permissions
As needed, the Bill timeline section can be collapsed and exported
What actions are recorded in the timeline?
- State changes to a bill
- Actions that alter a bill’s balance (e.g. payments, edits, interest generation, expiry of early payment discounts)
- Payments
- Actions that result in communication with the client (e.g. sending a bill, stopping a bill share, bill download)
- Changes to a Bill number
What actions are not recorded?
- Changes made to a bill before it’s been approved (i.e. changes during draft/pending approval)
- Specific details about the edits made to a bill
