A species that has been introduced into an ecosystem in which it does not naturally occur.

Why can introduced species be harmful?
A
They compete with other animals for food, provide predators a new source of prey, and may act as predators themselves, all of which can cause the ecosystem to become unbalanced.

A
Cane toads, northern pacific sea star, rabbits.
