Chemical Control - Ecosystems Flashcards
What are the two ways to control pests’ population?
Chemical control and biological control.
What is biological control?
This is when predators of a pest or competitors to a pest are introduced into an area in order to destroy or control the pests’ population.
What are pesticides?
Pesticides are chemicals that are used to control animals that compete with humans for food crops. This is called chemical control.
What are fungicides?
These are chemicals that are used to kill fungi.
