What are two reasons that civilisations have developed near plate boundaries?

1. Fertile soils are often found near fault lines where active volcanoes are. Volcanic rock contains many minerals and gases that are good nutrients for plants.
2. Ore deposits can be found in, around or near volcanoes. When some of the magma doesn’t erupt in a volcanic eruption, it cools and solidifies into ores.
