involves pressures to persuade or compel members of society to conform to the rules and involves any strategies designed to prevent deviant human behaviour.
what is the definition of internal social control
regulates our own behaviour in accordance with accepted forms. internal forms of social control such as conscience, upbringing and family traditions may make individuals abide by the law.
why may people not engage in criminal activity
Why do people abide by the law
They believe it is the best means of achieving social control
What is social control linked to
Individuals conscious, feelings of guilt, anxiety or worry within, and therefore guides people to follow laws and rules.
What does a persons consciences guide them to do and what does it create
Follow the rules, creating anxiety at the thought of committing a crime
How does it then translate to criminal behaviour
Not speeding or driving with a mobile phone as it’s right and proper and will ultimately protect the public
