What is Zone 1 and what patrols are within?
Zone 1 is South Base and S1 is the ISRT and S3 is the ESRT for the BFTF.
P4 is the Police Unit for Zone 1
What is Zone 2 and what patrols are within?
Zone 2 is the AFRL/East Base and E1 is the ISRT and E2 is the ESRT for the AFRL.
What is Zone 3 and what patrols are within?
Zone 3 is North Base and S2 is the ISRT and S4 is the ESRT for the flightline. P2 is the police unit for Zone 3.
What is Zone 4 and what patrols are within?
P3 is the Police Unit for Zone 4.
P1 is the Police Unit for housing area in Zone 4 but has base wide access.
What does a Red control access light mean at the AFRL?
This light indicates a highly hazardous condition or operations in the area beyond the light. Entry is not permitted.
What does a Amber control access light mean at the AFRL?
This light indicates a hazardous condition exists (explosives, propellants, chemicals or a hazard) in the area beyond the light. During duty hours, enter only after approval by the area manager or supervisor.
What does a Green control access light mean at the AFRL?
This light indicates the area is free of hazardous operations or materials.
Which areas are considered Do Not Enter at the AFRL?
Test Area I-30, Propellant Lab.
Test Area I-38, Environmental Storage Complex.
Test Area I-39, Toxic Fuel Farm.
Test Area I-40, Liquid Propellant Storability Complex.
Building 8451/Chemical Laboratory.
Building 8417/Electric Propulsion Laborator.
Who authorizes Foreign Nationals Visitors at the AFRL?
The AFRL Security Office and AFRL Foreign Disclosure Office is the only authority to coordinate visits by foreign nationals with the AFRL Gate.
Foreigns authorized get a red badge with a “V” and ESCORT REQUIRED.
Notify security manager if Foreign National shows up unannounced.
What is an Entry Authorization List?
Personnel listed on these rosters are granted unescorted entry after they are positively identified and the AF FM 1109 Visitor Log is completed. They are not allowed escort privileges. All EALs must be authenticated by the NCOIC, Physical Security.
What should you look for when inspecting commercial vehicle at the AFRL?
While conducting an inspection of a delivery vehicle, look for signs of leakage, vapor, or cloud emitting from the transport bed (check with the driver to ensure it is not part of the normal venting process). If leakage, vapor, or cloud is not part of the normal venting process, immediately contact the Emergency Communication Center (ECC)/AFRL Fire Department for donning of available C-2 or Fire H-Packs in the area.
If leakage, vapor, or a cloud is present, contact SOCC immediately. The vehicle may need to be immediately escorted to the suspect vehicle area, Area 1-36A Pad 9002 off Orion for AFRL.
