What are possible consequences of EBV?
A
Splenic Rupture is a rare, but serious complication of EBV.
Splenic rupture presents with
referred shoulder pain acute abdominal pain.
As bleeding progresses, patients develop signs of shock including tachycardia, tachypnea, hypotension, pallor, and restlessness.

If the patient has received the vaccine you may see a false positive on the PPD.
Therefore, use the Quanti-FERON-TB Gold Test. It is a blood test, also known as an interferon gamma release assay.
