What are HAIs?
Healthcare Associated Infections: infections that are acquired in a hospital or other healthcare setting
What are CAIs?
Community Acquired Infections: infections contracted outside of a healthcare setting or an infection present on admission
What are SICPs?
Standard Infection Control Precautions: the precautions necessary to reduce the risk of transmission of micro-organisms from both recognised and unecognised sources of infection
What are TBPs?
Transmission Based Precautions: a set of measurs that should be implemented when patients are either suspected, or known to be infected, with a specific infectious agent
