Inspection of ear
Whisper test
Perform Weber and Rinne tuning fork tests.
Observe the patient’s conversation with others.

Conductive Hearing Loss (non necessarily permanent)
loss of hearing related to inner ear damage due to problem with nerve pathways from inner ear to brain
Sensory Hearing Loss (usually permanent)
chronic inner ear disorder that causes vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness in the ear:

Low Sodium Diet (to keep fluid down)
Antivert/Antihistamine for N&V

Not during episodes
