Impact of Treatment Integrity Flashcards
Treatment integrity
the degree to which an intervention program is implemented as planned. It is critical component of professional practice. Ongoing progress monitoring is also critical ofr integrity.. School Psychologists can take proactive steps to ensure that students are provided with effective intervention practices by:
Five components of integrity: Adherence
how closely the intervention attends to procedues intended by creator (standardization)
Five Components of integrity: Quality of delivery
consideration of interventionists’ skills, decisions, timing, choices, and judgement in implementing
Five Components of integrity: Program Differentiation
degree to which intervention differs (distinct) from other existing practices. Without this it is difficult to attribute change to intervention and ow to some extraneous factor
Five Components of Integrity: Exposure
number, length, frequency, or duration of intervention sessions
Five components of integrity: Participant responsiveness
level of interventionist and student engagement, which appears to be related to the concept of intervention acceptability
Characteristics that discourage intervention integrity:
Complexity
multiple resources required
time requred
diversity of students worked with
familiarity with intervention that address same problems
difficult behavior or anger/hostility
severity or duration of problems
