Imaging Techniques Flashcards
Ultra-Sound (Medical Sonography)
used to visualize muscles, tendons, & many internal organs, their size, structure & any pathological lesions
X-Ray
useful in detecting pathology of the skeletal system, but are also useful for detecting some disease processes in soft tissue
CT Scan (Computed Tomography)
digital geometry processing is used to generate a 3D image of the internals of an object from a large series of 2D X-Ray images taken around a single axis of rotation
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
a non-invasive method used to render images of the inside of an object; primarily used in medical imaging to demonstrate pathological or other physiological alterations of living tissues
