Imaging of Pulmonary Infection Flashcards
Lobar
Strep Pneumo or Klebsiella
Heals without sequela
Round
Form of lobar
Think children
Klebsiella
Bulging fissure
Bronchopneumonia
S aureus or G-
Scarring after healing
Aspiration broncho
Bilateral medial lower lobe but R>L
Can become necrotic
At risk population
Anaerobics
Cancer
Persistent despite tx
Infectious nodules
Will get smaller with tx and have a halo around them
Abscess
Thick walled cavity
Mixed anaerobic>Aureus>pseudomonas
Septic emboli
Hematogenous spread of infection
IVDU +/- bacterial tricuspid valve endocarditis
S.aureus and epidermis
Empyema
Purulent in pleural space
Split pleural sign and loculated
Granulomatous
Look for calcified nodules
Histo and TB
Primar yTB findings
R>L consolidation
LAD with possible atelectasis
Primary progressive TB
Consolidation progresses
Post UL anbd Sup LL
Post pirimary
Latent TB in the lungs reactivates and spreads locally
Apical post UL and sup LL
No effusion or LAD
Tree in bud opacities
CD>200 and under 200
Over - typical post primary findings
UNder - resembles primary infection with consolidation and LAD
