Imaging Flashcards
ABCs of XRAY
A- alignment (fractures and dislocations distrupt alignment)
A- Adequacy (exposure and number of views)
B-Bone cortex (check for erosions, fractures, osteophytes)
C- Cartilage (cant really check cartilage on xray, so look at joint space)
Hill Sachs Deformity
A divit in the head of the humerus due to anterior dislocation.
SLAP Tear
Superior labrum anterior posterior Tear is due to overhead and throwing activities
ex. pitching
What is the SAIL sign
A displaced fat pad that, in adults, causes [radial fx]
Kids= [supracondylar fx]
When asked a question about what is fractured in SAILS sign, what do we need to take into consideration?
AGE!
Kids= supracondylar fx
Adults= radial fx
