How do you determine the distance with a VOR or NDB point?

A
  • Set a heading 90º with our ACTUAL RADIAL
  • When wings are levelled, take time and maintain this heading during the time the acft cuts 10 radials
  • Apply the following 2 formulas

TIME TO STATION (in minutes) =Time (to cut 10 radias in sec) / 10

DISTANCE TO STATION = TAS x TIME TO STATION (in minutes) / 60
