What are 5 general pathologies that cause hypohidrosis/anhidrosis?
A
- central/neuropathic disorders (spinal cord injuries)
- medications (anticholinergics)
- congenital alterations of sweat glands (ectodermal dysplasias)
- acquired destruction/atrophy of sweat glands (burns, scleroderma, morphea, GVHD)
- sweat gland obstruction (miliaria, ichthyoses, psoriasis, eczematous dermatoses)

Management of hypohidrosis:
A
- discontinue any offending meds if present
- avoid hyperpyrexia and maintain a cool environment
- gentle exfoliation if obstructed sweat glands
