Three subtypes of eosinophilic folliculitis:

A
  1. Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis (Ofujis disease): more common in japanese men, recurrent explosive crops of intensely pruritic grouped follicular papules and pustules.
    * can also have erythematous patches and plaques that expand with pustules creating a figurate/serpiginous lesion
  2. AIDS associated eosinophilic folliculitis
  3. Neonatal eosinophilic pustular folliculitis
  • early in infancy, pruritic perifollicular pustules and vesicles on erythematous base usually on scalp
  • self limited over a few months

A

check for HIV as there is AIDS associated EPF
