Hydraulics Flashcards
What systems do the hydraulic provide power for?
Flight controls
Spoilers
Landing gear
NWS
Brakes
Thrust reversers
What is the nominal pressure of each hydraulic system?
3000psi
Where can the hydraulic systems parameters and indications be found?
On the MFD synoptic pages
For hydraulic systems 1/2/3 at what temperature does the HYD HI TEMP warning message appear?
100 Celsius
In hydraulic systems 1/2/3 what happens when hydraulic fluid temperature reaches 125 Celsius?
Systems 1 and 2 = the shutoff valves automatically actuate
System 3 = pumps 3A and 3B will be turned off
For hydraulic systems 1/2/3 at what fluid temperature does the HYD OVERHEAT warning message appear?
145 Celsius
When in flight during normal operation when does electric hydraulic pump 1 automatically actuate?
EDP fail
Engine fail
Flaps greater than 0
When in ground and in normal operation when does electric hydraulic pump 1 actuate?
Flaps greater than 0 and either of the following:
- airspeed greater than 50kts
- thrust levers set to takeoff thrust
When in ground in normal operations when does electric hydraulic pump 2 activate?
Any of the following:
- engine 1 running and park brake off
- during engine 1 start if park brake has been set within the last 6 mins
When will electric hydraulic pump 2 automatically be turned off?
6 in’s after park brake has been set
What is the purpose of the PTU?
Assists landing gear operation should a right engine or right EDP failure occur
When will the ptu automatically start?
When all of the following occur:
- flaps not set to zero or landing gear not up and locked
- EDP 1 no fail
- reservoir 2 above 12%
- in flight
When does electrical pump 3B automatically turn on?
When pump electrical pump 3A fails
What provides power to the flight controls during RAT spool up?
System 3 accumulator
What is the purpose of the pump unloader valve?
Reduces pump torque and thus the electrical requirements needed to start pump 3A
