What does the AMS consist of?
- the pneumatic system
- environmental control system (ECS)
What is bleed air used for?
- ECS
- engine start
- engine and wing anti ice
- water pressurisation
How is engine bleed air temperature controlled?
By the pre cooler
When is the engine bleed valve automatically opened in normal operation?
When all of the following occur simultaneously:
- switch set to auto
- respective engine bleed is available
- no fire
- no leaks
When are the engine bleed valves automatically closed?
- leak
- overpressure
- failure
When is the APU bleed valve commanded open?
When the following occur simultaneously:
- APU bleed switch set to auto
- APU bleed available
- no APU or left bleed leak
- left engine bleed unavailable
- wing anti ice off
When is the cross bleed valve commanded open?
- one bleed source is working and the other side isn’t
- bleed APU button pushed out
- engine 2 start in the air
- APU bleed off and engine 1 start in air
When is the cross bleed valve commanded closes?
- bleed leak
- fire extinguisher handle pulled
- manifold side with pressure above 90psi
When does the gasper shutoff valve automatically open?
When gasper air exceeds 35 Celsius
What is the composition of cabin with regards to fresh and recirculated air?

48% recirculated air
How many fans are in the forward and centre e-bays?
3
How many fans are there in the aft e-bay?
None
When is the emergency ram air ventilation valve commanded open?
If both packs are off and the altitude is less than 25000ft
When is the emergency ram air check valve opened?
Whenever the pressure in the ram air circuit is greater than cabin pressure
What does the cabin pressure control system (CPCS) consist of?
- cabin pressure controller
- 1 cabin outflow valve
- 1 negative pressure relief valve
- 1 positive pressure relief valve
- 1 static pressure port
