How Systems Interact Flashcards
Digestive and Circulatory
The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients through the digestive tract. Once it reached the small intestines the nutrients diffuse through the small intestine’s wall into the blood. The circulatory system then brings those nutrients around the body. I how system gives the digestive tract, multiple capillaries to allow this to happen
respiratory and circulatory
the respiratory system takes in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. for this to happen gas exchange needs to occur. the circulatory system contains blood which carries carbon dioxide. the carbon dioxide diffuses from the blood to the alveoli. oxygen is inhaled by the nasal cavity or mouth and diffuses into the blood. the oxygen is transported around the body with the help of the heart’s ventricle, which pumps blood.
musculoskeletal and nervous
the spinal cord carries impulses to the brain. the brain coordinates intellectual activity/ the peripheral nervous system which is connected to the brain and spinal cord. takes the impulses and the brain controls the skeletal muscle in the body and contract or relaxes it accordingly.
