On one hand in a liberal democracy individuals are free to practice and follow any religion they would like without the fear of persecution. But in communist societies people are pressured and threatened not to follow many religions just ones maybe supported by the government.

Experiences in a family as a child with religion can be positive and negative. A child who was brought up in a religious family who undertook many religious experiences like prayer, going to mass regularly attending a Catholic school will most probably see religion in a positive light.
Children brought up in an athesitic family or the opposite will most likely see religion in a more negative light
