endocrine = no duct

A

hormone:
passed into blood
slower take longer to act
longer term response
can have widespread effect on multiple organs
nerve:
electrical nerve impulse in nerve cells
travel faster and almost instant action
short term response
localised on individual cells or tissues

A

ADH - pituitary - controls water content - kidney
Adrenaline - adrenals - prepares body for physical activity - heart, muscles, lungs
Insuline & glucagon - pancreas - liver, muscles - regulates glucose in blood
testosterone - testes - controls development of male secondary sexual characteristics - prostate, testes, muscles
oestrogen - ovaries - controls development of female secondary sexual characteristics and menstrual cycle - ovaries, uterus
