In the Pituitary Gland. Triggers the thyroid gland to release thyroxine
Thyroxin
Increases cell metabolism
Calcitonin
Lowers blood calcium levels
Parathormone
Increases blood calcium levels
Thymosin
triggers the maturation of T-cell Lymphocytes
Adrenaline/Epinephrine
Released during the fight or flight response
Cortisol
Released in times of prolonged stress
Insulin
lowers blood glucose levels through guiding sugar into cells
Glucagon
Raises blood glucose levels by calling on glycogen reserves to be broken down
Testosterone
Controls sperm development and secondary sex characteristics
estrogen
Initiates uterine lining growth and controls secondary sex characteristics
