egg count determines the severity of disease <5 per mg of faces seldom means clinical disease whereas >20 is associated with significant anemia >50 MASSIVE INFECTION

larvae: respiratory manifestations: when the larvae break out of the pulmonary capillaries and enter alveoli- can manifest as bronchopneumonia
adults: hook worm disease- anemia , abdominal pain , edema
