It targets the immune system (specifically CD4 cells)
what is AIDS?
AIDS is when someone has less than 200 CD4 cells or has an opportunistic infection
what does AIDS stand for?

What is the treatment for HIV?
ART (Antiretroviral therapy)
What is used to prevent HIV?
PrEP, a pill taken daily that prevents HIV prior to an exposure
How is HIV transmitted?
The sharing of bodily fluids (semen, vaginal/rectal fluids, blood, and breast milk
What does ART stand for?
Antiretroviral Therapy
How does ART work?
It prevents the virus from duplicating
What cell does HIV target?
T cells/CD4 cells
What is an opportunistic infection?
An infection that is more likely to occur/be severe in people with weakened immune systems or immunodeficiency
