Gavrilo Princip

A

He was a Bosnian-Serb youth. He shot and killed the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir apparent to the Austrian throne, and his pregnant wife Sophie as the motorcar passed by the streets of Sarajevo. He was arrested and imprisoned, where he would die of tuberculosis in 1918.

A

Germany gained confidence and increased its aggression as a result of its victory in the war. France were humiliated with led to them wanting revenge.

Britain and France expanded their empires in result in increased tension among European country. An empire has lots of colonies which caused them to have move enemies because they wall wanted the land one another had.

The British had the most developed army buy then the Germans army became more developed after they stool the plans for a British ship so they become the second more developed army. This caused the first world war because the countries wanted to go to war to find out whose navy was the best.

During this time Serbia and Austro-Hungary allied different countries which lead to a the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance. The alliances meant that different lots of countries got.

There were lots of different treaties such as the treaty of London, Emperor’s League, the dual alliance, the triple alliance, the Franco, Russian alliance, the entente cordiale and the triple entente.

How did the murder in Sarajevo cause WWI?

A

The Black Hand, a secret Serbian society of the early20th century that used terrorist methods to promote the liberation of Serbs outside Serbia, killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, his wife and his unborn baby. This was in Sarajevo in Austro-Hungary. Austro-Hungary knew that Serbia were behind these these attacks. The Austro-Hungarians were very unhappy and this caused them to send a list of unreasonable demands to Serbia, of course could not do this. Then the Austro-Hungarians declared war on Serbia starting WW1.
