o Hepatic uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (URO-D)
o Most common porphyria
o Bullous dermatosis, scarring, hyperpigmentation, hypertrichosis (hair growth)
Bullous lesions in sun exposed regions w/o neurovisceral Sx’s
o Increased iron stores may be due to down-regulation of hepcidin
o TQ: Associated w/Hepatitis C
o Always screen for HFE C282Y homozygosity/other Fe overload forms
