When plaque builds up on the inside of an artery, blocking it + cutting off O₂ to the heart

Symptoms
A
Persistent crushing chest pain - may spread to arm/throat/jaw
Feeling sick/weak/dizzy
Very sweaty

Aspirin administration
A
CFR can give up to 300mg of aspirin to a suspected heart attack patient
Aspirin will reduce risk of further arterial blockage by preventing more clots
Dissolve in a small amount of water

Before administering aspirin check
A
If they are in date
That the packaging is undamaged
Check tablet strength

When not to give aspirin
A
Stomach ulcer within the last 6 months
Bleeding disorder
Aspirin allergy
Under 16
