Migraine s/s and treatment

A

S/s: dilation and excessive pulsation of carotids, 2-3 days in duration, unilateral throbbing, neuro signs,
Tx: avoid triggers, amyriptyline, propanolol, gabapentin
Managment of an acute attack: Dark room, ASA, Imitrex

Cluster headache s/s and treatment

A

Unilateral periorbital pain for a few hours to weeks, usually at night, ipsilateral nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, eye redness
Treatment is 100% O2 and sumatriptan
