- storm arwen, 25th-29th nov 2021 - 100mph winds, killed 3 ppl, flattened forests, buildings collapsed, loss of power

A
- caused by heavy rains & strong wavees from a depression
- can trigger a landslide
- coastal - storm surges
- river flash flooding - heavy rainfall
- slow onset river flooding - continous rainfall
- surface water flooding - lots of rain collects in a hollow
- jan 2023, river ouse broke banks in york, submerged parts of city

- summer 2022, east anglia recieved less rainfall
