What is gut bacteria?
These are microorganisms that live in our gut.
Why is gut bacteria needed?
They maintain the gut ecosystem and help in digestion.
What is the amount of bacteria in intestines?

Are they harmful?
They can be if their population increases more than required.Gut bacteria feed on your food.They produce gases as they feed.When there are too many bacterias it can cause excessive burping, passing wind and stomach cramps.
Are they helpful ?
In required amounts they are.They digest some foods that body cannot. They feed on the some of the digested molecules to grow and multiple, remaining is absorbed in the body
Are gut bacteria only present in the body?
No some of them can be found in fermented foods like yoghurt, buttermilk, kimchi or sauerkraut.Its called probiotics
They help control harmful gut bacteria
