What is goodpasture syndrome
A
A rare autoimmune disease found in young male smokers
Circulating antibodies against glomerular and alveolar basement membrane
Causes damage /inflammation to kidneys and lungs

Clinical Manifestations
A
Flu like symptoms
Cough, mild SOB, hemoptysis, crackles, rhonchi, pulmonary insufficiency
Pulmonary hemorrhage may precede glomerular abnormalities
Renal symptoms
Hematuria, weakness, pallor, anemia, renal failure

Corticosteroids
Immunosuppressive drugs
Plasmapharesis
Dialysis
