GERD: most common cause
Ingestion of strong acids or alkalis
Trauma
Throat lacerations, gunshot wounds
Due to scar formation

Usually develop over a long time
Result in
Dysphagia
Regurgitation
Weight loss

Treatment
A
Dilated endoscopically
Surgical excision
Patient may have a temporary or a permanent gastrostomy
