A
- Prednisolone- antinflammatory, antishock , antiallergic, immunosuppressant
- Methylprednisolone- neural protection
- Triamicinolone - in joint problem
- Betametasone + Dexamethasone - more potent than cortisol
- Beclomethasone + Fluticasone - Asthma

- Mobilization to the liver
- muscle atrophy
- decreased growth
- polyuria
- gastric ulcer (COX, use omeperazole)
- ACTH supression
*anti-inflammatory (COX) , anti-allergic, immunosuppressant (interleukin), antishock (Dec
Capillary permeability- water stays), neuroprotective (enhancing blood supply)
4
Q
Therapuetic methods
A
Systemic usage:
- High dose once (e.g in shock)
- ADT (alternate day therapy)- to prevent ACTH supression
- Long acting (not recommended) - although intra-articularly is safe
