A

- Causes an increase in BGL concentrations by converting stored liver glycogen to glucose

A

Diabetic hypoglycaemia (BGL <4 mmol/L) in pts with altered GCS and unable to self-administer oral glucose

Eg: inadequate glycogen stores in the liver (alcoholics/malnourished)

  • unable to insert IV
