  • Carotid
  • Facial

What are the symptoms of giant cell arteritis?

A

Suspect in any >50 with new headache

Temporal artery

  • Scalp tenderness
  • Headache

Opthalmic
- Amaurosis fugax

Facial
- Jaw claudication

A

Sudden transient loss of vision
Amaurosis (greek) = darkness
Fugax (latin) = fleeting
