What is a vitelline cyst?
Midportion of the vitelline duct remains patent but the ends are obliterated to mucus accumulates in the cyst
What is a vitelline fistula?
Failure of the vitelline duct to close
What is Meckel’s diverticulum?
Outpouching/bulge in the lower part of the small intestine

2% population
2 feet from ileocaecal valve

What is atresia?
Lumen obliterated
What is stenosis?
Lumen narrowed

Hypertrophy of circular muscle in the region of pyloric sphincter
What is a key feature of pyloric stenosis?
Projectile vomiting

Failure of cosure of the abdominal wall during folding of embryo

Peristence of physiological herniation
How does omphalocele differ from umbilical hernation?
